Hai, I'm Miles! I'm a fun-loving fox pup looking for his place in the world
The main thing I do here is translate Spanish sentences into English.
I'm constantly working with native speakers to make sure all my sentences are OK.
If you notice I said or wrote something unnatural in ANY language (especially English), please let me know! I'm still learning.
In my time outside of Tatoeba, I also make electronic music (producer/DJ), play soccer, do volunteer work and teach beginner Japanese.

If I suggest a correction, please wait for confirmation from another native, since I could be wrong.

¡Yola, soy Miles!

9/9/21: I recently changed how I'm going to handle non-English sentences I contribute. If they're likely to be linked to List 907 sentences, I'll release them for native adoption. If they're not likely to be used in those projects, I won't release them. An exception is Spanish, which I'm already dealing with separately. In either case I'll keep asking for native checks and will fix as needed.

[ABOUT MY TWO MAIN LANGUAGES/SOBRE MIS DOS IDIOMAS PRINCIPALES]

Spanish is my birth language, which I was exposed to throughout my life, being born into a completely Spanish-speaking family in northern Mexico. However I was non-verbal (autism) until age 5, using my own number-based language until then.

I immigrated to the U.S. when I was 8 (I now live in California), and started learning English in school. I built upon it by reading books and surfing the internet, until it became the language of my inner monologue within a few years.

With my focus shifting to improving my English, my already-weak spoken Spanish (I could always understand it since my family still spoke Spanish) began to decay, until a few years ago when I decided to work on relearning it. I’ve made a lot of progress since then, and have grown a passion for it, but my Spanish journey is not over, as I still have gaps in my knowledge and application.

However, neither is my English journey, even though my school redesignated me as a fluent English speaker. I can work in it at a high level, but I don’t think my English is always truly like a native speaker, which is why I often ask for native checks on either language. However, I’m still English-dominant. If there's one language I'm confident in, it's English.

I've identified as a semi-furry for a few years, and have friends who are furries. I feel like it's been misunderstood among many people, and I want to try and clear these misconceptions up as best I can. I don't have an original fursona yet, or a fursuit for that matter.

My bio used to be bigger but it was deleted by accident, and I decided against trying to fully recreate it. Chances are I've already revealed a lot about myself elsewhere.

I don’t consider myself a polyglot. English, Spanish and Japanese are the only languages I have a real drive to learn, and I’d imagine that at least for the time, those will be the only ones I’ll make any real progress in. I might still mess around with other languages, but at a lower messy level.
