Try to have positive thinking, you will have some time to recuperate and practice your 31 languages :) By the way, my cousin promised me to give her Portuguese textbooks when she comes, I hope to see some basics soon.

al_ex_an_der hasn't indicated his languages on the language scale in his profile.

> I don’t have the energy to start a dispute about #2832705, #530103 or #3743671 (outdated non-neutral vocabulary linked to neutral sentences)

What's wrong with the word "гомосексуалист" and what makes you think this word is non-neutral? If you search you'll find this word in many dictionaries and articles including Wikipedia and academic literature.

Why all the sentences in my list are sorted in random order? Before these last changes I saw the most recent at the end and now it's totally mixed.

Let's be reasonable. I didn't say we should wait for three years or that merging is unnecessary. I just said that declination of intervals isn't such a big problem. Actually unadopted, meaningless and even "near duplicates" (like Dan-Tom-John sentences) still give us the wrong impression of the number of good sentences. I personally don't see any inconvenience if the merging is being performed once every two month, for example.

And yes, people should obey the rules but it they don't do so, other people have to waste their own time, leave comments, wait and correct each sentence. This way we will have a big deal of uncorrected sentences some of which will probable be unmerged duplicates.

Sure, but it's just some kind of extra work for people because they can directly translate and link original sentence instead of duplicate. By the way, I don't see any problem if the merging happens less often than once a month. If we can wait a month, we probably can wait some more time.
What worries me more is that we still haven't implemented automatic correction of punctuation and capital letters. If we have two equal sentences but the second one has no period, these two sentences won't be merged. And new users tend to contribute without paying attention to it. For example, the most Arabic sentences have no full stop or have it on the wrong side: http://tatoeba.org/eng/sentence...ne/indifferent

The last comment of our deduplication bot was left 17 days ago. I guess, that's when the last merging was done.

I don't think you should worry about it since all duplicates will eventually be removed. I personally always search before contibute a sentence so that I can be sure my sentences won't be deleted by Horus.

Thank you for feedback. I just wanted to report while being curious about the reason. I tried to translate Tatoeba's interface when it was on Launchpad but nobody accepted my translation and I lost my interest. Anyway, the problem is not so serious.

Let me show you:

Although Russian seems to be OK this time, look at some other languages like Japanese. To see this I should not only open the page but also change the language to Russian at the top menu.

There is a bug in the Tatoeba's interface. When I look at the page "Languages of members" I see how many members have set Russian as their language. https://tatoeba.org/eng/users/for_language/rus
When I switch this page into Russian, I see a different statistic. https://tatoeba.org/rus/users/for_language/rus

I personally wouldn't change anything. I believe it's okay the way it's now.

If so, I didn't find anything else that could be considered as a bag.

Another sentence I added as a single contribution appeared linked to another sentence.

Just open the link. I think it's strange that my sentence appeared among other sentences. I didn't link them.

I chose three random languages in my profile and then I tried to add a sentence in a language I didn't indicate. This is result https://dev.tatoeba.org/eng/sentences/show/3834755

It seems that the sentence I've just added on that site wasn't displayed in the "Latest contributions".

My suggestion is to make also an opportunity to mark the words you want to be pronounced with audio and not only to be contributed.

I have a suggestion. I think we could make the first letter capital automatically after some contributor submits his sentence. Except for some languages as Arabic or Japanese, of course. This way we could save a lot of time for corpus mantainers. Also, if some sentence has no final punctuation, we could put a final point automatically. I know that sometimes it should be a question mark, but if we think about it:
1) There are much more affirmative sentences than exclamatives or interrogatives.
2) If we automatically put a final period when we really need something else, a corpus mantainer still has to leave a comment, so technically there is no difference.
