
For the French translation I think we could say just simply "Il y a des choses que je voudrais dire mais s'immiscer maintenant dans la conversation serait peu courtois."
The same way, I don't think that the Japanese "というのは” has to be translated (or even should be translated)in English. So, it could be something like "There are things I'd like to say but to butt in now would be uncouth.".
Well, it's just my feeling...
