Да, некоторые проблемы создаются, так как образуется избыток предложений, написанных по одному шаблону. Но всё же соединять их, по моему мнению, неправильно, так как это сбивает с толку. Пусть лучше Иван будет в переводе Ivan'ом, а Tom - Томом (в крайнем случае - Фомой :-)).
