Are you sure that "Abbedissan" is an English word?
It looks like a Genetive of Finnish "abbedissa" which means "abbess" in English (and the languages of the other transaltions kinda prove it).
I was silly and thought it was a unique Swedish name at first. Fixed.
Shouldn't it be "is fit for her" or "fits her"?
I think it's OK, as the past tense of fit; besides fit - fitted - fitted, there's also the fit-fit-fit conjugation.
You are right. It is the past tense (fit or fitted is ok).
