"fut la fin"/"en fut la fin" ça marche aussi, mais c'est pas quelque chose que je dirais à l'oral.

J'ai pas de problème particulier avec "était la fin".

moi si, vu que l'imparfait n'est la que pour de la description, si tu as un probleme avec l'usage du passe simple, alors ce serait plus
en a ete la fin
sinon en l'etat c'est une faute de concordance des temps pour moi

Je sais pas si on peut parler de problème de concordance de temps ici vu que t'as qu'un seul verbe, y'a pas de proposition subordonnée...

bon pas de concordance alors, d'emploi des temps tout simplement, on utilise pas l'imparfait pour une action ponctuelle.
