The other sentences are of the form "a boy", this is a different sentence because it's referring to a specfic "the" boy.

I recommend changing this to "A boy throws a stone"(or releasing it so I can do so).

You might hear a sentence like this in described video for the blind, or in story telling.
"Romeo is standing under Juliette's window. He has to get her attention. He throws a stone. It hits the windows. She appears."

That sentence structure is called the historical present, when you're using the present tense to describe past events.

One of CK's messages (now deleted) said that 'this setup' calls for 'He throws a stone.'. I don't see why, as in 'Puer lapidem iacit.' the subject is 'puer'—'boy'.
