Maybe I should change it to Shu or Shoe. I was trying to keep the reference to the French "Chou à la crème" (cream puff).

It's obvious that it comes from French and has nothing to do with any English spelling...

This sentence was initially added as a translation of sentence #1244272序に、日本でシユウ・クリイムと呼んでゐる菓子は、英国へ行つても仏蘭西へ行つてもその名前では通用しない。英吉利でシユウ・クリイムを持つて来いと云つたら、靴墨を持つて来たといふおとしばなしもできてゐるくらゐだ。.

By the way, the pastry known as "Chou Cream" in Japan is not known under this name either in England nor in France. If you ask for a "Chou Cream" in England, you will end up comically receiving shoe shine.
