
This wording makes it sound as if one had a setup to have their own watch stolen. I don't know any Japanese, so I don't know about the original sense of the sentence, but yeah.

"I had my watch stolen." is an OK English sentence.
In certain contexts it could mean that I arranged for it to be stolen, but that is unlikely in the above English sentence. This sentence here is in the passive voice (causative passive) and is like saying "I had my hair cut." Another way to say it would be "My watch was stolen." (passive) or "Someone stole my watch." (active)
