Puppe = doll
??

Thanks patgfisher. I was not paying close enough attention. :)

Do you mean "I got a ball for the doll"?
"I received a ball for the doll" seems to imply that you gave someone the doll and got a ball in echange.
I realise it's a translation of the German and bekommen can mean to get or receive etc. It's just that the English sentences above isn't clear, in my view.

>>> "I received a ball for the doll" seems to imply that you gave someone the doll and got a ball in exchange.
This is how I'd understand the German sentence.
