Not really. A literal translation would be "bought and came".
「～てくる」には2パターンあって、場所Aから場所Bに行って何かをしてから場所Aに戻ってくる場合と、場所Bから場所Aに来る途中で何かをするという場合とがあります。"go and ～" と訳せるのは前者のときだけではないでしょうか。
この文では後者の意味で「～てくる」を使っていると思います。つまり場所Aを離れたということはこの文の意味には含まれていません。その意味を含めたかったら「買いに行ってきた」と言うでしょう。
