talvez: se habían convertido (english become = had become)

Quizá sugieres que mejor la forma en singular "donde todo se veía como antes" en lugar de "donde todos se veían como antes". Me parece mejor la tuya. Suena mejor.
Cuando realicé la traducción tuve presente el had become instead of become (past participle or present) pero quise ser fiel aunque reconozco que la calidad de la traducción empeora. También lo hace, si pongo "convertido" en lugar de habían convertido. Asi resulta mucho mejor.

Subieron a la pequeña habitación, donde todos se veían como antes. El viejo reloj iba "tictac, tictac", y las manecillas señalaban la hora del día, pero al pasar por la puerta de la habitación se dieron cuenta de que ambos eran adultos y se convertían en un hombre y una mujer.
