ことわざなので、句点を外します。
「堅い枝は、雪の重さに耐えることができません。だけど、柔らかい枝の柳は、雪の重さに耐えることができます。柔軟性があることは、時として、いいことです」そんな感じの意味です。

I don't mind whether ことわざ end with a 。 or not. There are a lot of them here, and if they get amended my weekly old/new comparison is going to run hot. Can't we make an exception from usual Japanese proactice and leave the 。 there?
