Hello,
I think this sentence should be unlinked from the German sentence because the meaning is near oppositional: "lunch awaits" (i.e it's ready, time to eat) versus "dinner can wait" (i.e no need to hurry, that's not the most important thing right now). This can be confusing.

Other language translations also seem to confuse the two (opposite) meanings. Split recommended.
I've unlinked the German "Das Abendessen kann warten." and linked "Lunch is ready."
