@NNC: English
¿Esta frase se debería leer con aire de sarcasmo?
yo creo que sí
I can't answer for the Spanish, but the ellipsis seems out of place in the English, since the sentence is complete.
A minor point of interest: at the end of a sentence, ellipses are spelled with four dots.
The Spanish sentence finishes with the ellipsis to indicate it's said in a sarcastic way, is there some way to show that in English?
Hmm. I went to the Web. The best thing I found was "Irony punctuation" on Wikipedia. There seems to be some evidence that the use of "..." for sarcasm is trying to creep into English--and being resisted.
One possibility:
We all know you go to the cinema to watch "Twilight" because of its "brilliant script" and not because of its actors.
This loses a little because we don't have italics for "Twilight." The quotes around "brilliant script" are called "scare quotes," and their usual meaning is something like "Don't take this at face value."
Changed, thank you.
