Is it really a poor usage of 月火? If so, can you suggest another sentence using 月火 so it it not lost altogether?
来週の月火は連休だ。could be used, but it doesn't sound natural to me.
So, I changed the sentence a little bit. However, 月火（げつか）is also a common word for us.

なるほど. What would be a good substitute? I have heard it in contexts like: 「いつ行こうか」 「月火は大丈夫」 Is something like that natural?

毎週、月火はピアノ、水金はダンスを習ってるの。
