How to change the language name displayed in the Interface Language dialog box? The name of my language displayed there "Chinese (Taiwan)" (not yet on the main site) feels off. it's usually written as 中文 (台灣), not 中文 (臺灣正體).
The name is part of a site configuration setting, so only system administrators can change it.
When zh_TW was added to Tatoeba, because we were not sure what was the best name to use, to keep it safe we used the same name as what is used on https://zh.wikipedia.org/. You can check the discussion that happened at that time: https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/2672
You are welcome to share your expertise on this topic.
I finished translating Tatoeba Website into Traditional Chinese. Hope it could be applied to this site as soon as possible!

Awesome, thank you very much! I really appreciate your translation effort, and all your contributions in general by the way. I will apply the Chinese translation to tatoeba.org this week.
I've noticed that a decent quantity of the languages on Tatoeba have flags with poor rendering. This isn't a common issue with languages that have more sentences written in them (a notable exception being Spanish), but it increases rapidly with a decrease in sentences in a language (71 of the 100 smallest languages by sentence count have the issue, while only 39 of the 100 largest languages by sentence count have the issue). I was wondering if this is a known issue, and if it's considered an issue at all.
yeah, technically all flags should use an svg version. we should add them as long as we can get them.
I'd be happy to source some from Wikimedia.

(I don't see a more accurate-to-the-original version online, but I didn't look that hard.)

In the past, every single language icon had poor rendering, that is to say all were an image of 30×20 pixels. We are working to redesign them to vectorized (SVG) equivalents, but not all the icons have been converted yet. (Despite the files are SVG, many of the SVG simply contain a raster image).
You contributions to the redesign effort are very welcome. Currently, 154 out of 429 language icons are vectorized.
The Spanish flag could be improved, but we do not want to include every single intricate detail of the flag, since it is mainly displayed as a tiny icon.
