Van egy költői, filozofikus kérdésem: Mit jelent az, hogy ezen az oldalon minden nyelv egyenlő? Kérem a magyar anyanyelvűeket, hogy ne írjanak semmit ehhez az üzenethez.

I share your opinion as well. I didn't wrote that they weren't useful. I just wrote that there are many differences among languages that someone can't really learn from books only by practice. These are the order of pronouns etc. that I wrote.
I hardly know some languages and I'm pleased to study short sentences. And I know some languages on a higher level, though not perfectly, but I want my knowledge to be better.
(It's fairly relative whether a sentence is interesting. Nevertheless a longer sentence has more chance to be.)

"The cat is white."
"The fruit is yellow."
"The table is green."
I don't think that these are really sentences and someone really can use them in the reality. Cat isn't necessarily white etc. They can be useful for a songbook: The cat is white, the cat is white, trallala, trallala.
We are adults, aren't we?
Someone who learns a foreign language, in all probability can translate and write sentences with 3-5 words. Though 96% of Tatoeba consists of that short sentences.
If we Tatoeba want to be useful, I think we should write more complicated sentences as well because of excercising the right word order of longer sentences, the usage of comma or semicolon, the conjunctions; we should also write more interjections, onomatopoeic words and figures of speech (eventually with explanation) that one really use in everyday life.
There are plenty of users who writes 10-20 sentences and no more. Why? Tatoeba may not be boring. Tatoeba must be more than a boring schoolbook.
Sometimes I translate like a machine and it doesn't make me pleasure.
Sometimes Tatoeba seems to be a competition among nations - no más.

Er bellt. Oder etwas andere.
Bellen können sie sicher.
Ich hab nur solche Videos gesehen.

Hi everyone,
Now I deal with the noises of animals.
We, raggione and I, were thinking about a list of animal noises. It already exists (What do animals "say" in your language?). I wondered if it was better a tag "animal noises". It would be easier to handle it (to add it and search by them).
In Hungarian there are about 40-50 different onomatopoeias of animals (I don't know exactly how many; it may be less or more) and even more sentences.
I know there are anyway too many lists and tags, either. I'm waiting for your viewes and remarks, pros and cons.
Sziasztok!

Ah falsch! Die sind das nicht. Wer ein guter 'Boss' sein will, was ich (nämlich Chef bzw. guter Chef) nicht will, arbeitet mehr, unterstütz und dient all andere. Ich will es eigentlich nur nicht, was ich selber bezüglich meinen Sätzen erledigen kann, ein anderer tun zu müssen.

Thanks!

Might I ask of you Russians if It's possible to use "ё" instead of "e" in certain case.
I use Tatoeba to learn Russian and unlike you, the use of letter "ё" is not always unequivocal for me.

Many sentences are really tagged (but not all of them).
In my opinion, Tatoeba would be even more useful if the meaning of the idioms also were there. One wouldn't have to search with Google what that means if the sentence is not so
understandable as the example you've chosen.
Of course, it can't be expected, it depends only on the person who types.
My respect for the persons who care about it.

I think the ones who write a saying, a proverb should also add the meaning - and the sentence should be tagged so.
Of course, not everyone knows all the sayings of a foreign language. And these are often different in the languages and the meaning of their are sometimes not obvious.
The mistranslations or literally translations chould be avoided so. The sense of the sentences must be the same not each word in it.

Szuper, Nicky! Üdv a Tatoebán! Welcome on Tatoeba!

Sometimes, I've the impression not always the later added same translations are deleted among duplicates, but the first.
How does it work anyway?

Pagination
It would be nice if the pagination was just inversely.
What I mean exactly: when I write the "book of my sentences", I always write on the page 1.
That's totally unlogical. The sentences locate always on a different page and a certain page contains always different sentences. If I want to look for something in a book, I know about where to search. The orderliness and permanence are pretty good things in many aspects.

Esperanto. Can anybody tell me what is it used for?

It would be gorgeous if Japanese was there also with Hepburn script.
