Tatoeba doesn't have an active live-time chatroom. Discord servers are popular and convenient, would it be nice if we create a server for Tatoeba on Discord?

I'd be in favor of something like this. However, I'm not sure whether Discord is popular worldwide / among other Tatoeba users. Perhaps a group over WhatsApp, Telegram or even IRC would be more likely to draw interest. I'm curious what others here think about this topic.

Tatoeba has an XMPP chatroom, see https://tatoeba.org/contact
It is rather quiet, but I believe most of our workflow does not require live interaction anyway.

Hello, is there a method to do the following?

search for exact word: =word
learning/searching in: from=hungarian
native language: to=english

only show results where both of these are true:
there is an audio recording in hungarian
there is a text translation in english

the audio=yes option only seems to enforce if there is *any* audio, not audio of the word i search for in my learning language; i would think almost anyone using this filter is expecting it to enforce it for the learning language

thanks for any help and thanks for this amazing website

Here is an example that matches your need.

The situation you mentioned might be because you were limiting audio=yes to translations, instead of sentences. There are two audio=yes options in the advanced search, you can see the example I give for only limiting Hungarian sentences with audios.

Dear Team,

I am writing to respectfully request that you consider including Cantabru (Cantabrian) as a supported language on your translation platform.

Cantabru is a traditional language of Cantabria with significant cultural and historical value, and it is still used by many people today. Adding it to your platform would help preserve and promote this linguistic heritage, while also serving a growing community interested in using and learning the language.

I believe your platform would be an excellent space to give visibility to Cantabru (Cantabrian) and support its use in digital contexts.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I would be happy to provide any additional information if needed.

Best reardgs,

Once you've added more sentences, you can apply for the role Advanced Contributor (More details here: https://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/art...contributors#) and then you can add the tag "@change" and a corpus maintainer will change them. Although there is no Greek corpus maintainer, I think any corpus maintainer can fix errors such as punctuation. I will add the @change tag to the sentences you've commented on, thank you for identifying them!

Du könntest auch eine List erstellen, die aus jene Sätze besteht, und dich bei einem der Moderatoren melden, die regelmäßig Sätze mit orthographischen Fehlern in Fremdsprachen korrigiert, z.B. Vortarulo.

Hi everyone! I have a question for native English speakers.

What phrases should I use for expressing my English level? Here are my options, please correct them so that they would sound native:

1) I speak English at (a? the?) B2 level.
2) I speak English at (a? the?) level (of?) B2.
3) I know English at (a? the?) B2 level.
4) I know English at (a? the?) level (of?) B2.

Please add the correct options on Tatoeba and give me the numbers of the sentences. Tysm!

Thank you! What about A1 and A2 levels? It should be with an article "an", right?
"I speak English at an A1 level".

This is a good question for Google's Ngram Viewer. Here's a graph comparing the frequency of "at A1 level", "at an A1 level", and "at the A1 level":

https://books.google.com/ngrams...en&smoothing=3

The phrase "at an A1 level" does not appear in the corpus with the default search parameters, though I wouldn't consider it wrong if I came across it.

Ngram Viewer allows you to look exclusively at American English, British English, English fiction, and so on. It also supports a number of languages other than English.

Just to point out, when you click on the examples a lot of the example sentences seem to be about science, not languages, so I don't think it's accurate in this case. I would say "at an A1 level" is most natural, "at the A1 level" slightly unnatural, and "at A1 level" incorrect (when preceded by "I speak English"). The ones that are to do with languages are phrased differently, e.g "at the A1 level in Spanish you..." which does actually sound natural.
