This was a translation from the English. Opinions on whether it's reasonable to use the 24 hour clock in a translation like this?

"Es ist acht Uhr abends" already appears as yet another variant (linked to another sentence). I believe that such formulation ("20 Uhr") could maybe be used, for instance, in a military context. Could a native German speaker confirm that?

24 hour style is commonly used in german, so its ok.

20 = zwanzig

maybe it´s used more in formal contexts, but people also say "zwanzig uhr" in everyday talk.
