Just throwing the question out in the open: do we have a consensus as to what to do with the sentences whose language undergoes a spelling reform? Uzbekistan has approved an update to the Uzbek Latin alphabet of changing these to these, officially taking effect in April 2027:

oʻ → ö
gʻ → ğ
sh → ş
ch → ç

In Tatoeba, would the current Uzbek sentences just be left as-is until the owner/corpus maintainer decides to edit it, or is there another general consensus on this matter? I'm just curious since this might could set a precedent for future speeling reforms of any other language (or not, maybe everything depends on case-by-case basis, which is why I'm asking).

I am not sure how this will play out for the Uzbek language. There is still time, though... As for the Tatar language, the issue of transliteration — converting between the Cyrillic and Latin scripts (specifically the Zamanalif-2012 system) — was raised repeatedly on this site more than two months ago. Yet, things remain exactly as they were. Meanwhile, industry leaders in the field of language — such as Google (with its translator and artificial intelligence), DeepL, and ChatGPT — have successfully addressed the challenges of understanding, translating, and writing the Tatar language in both Cyrillic and Latin scripts. I would like to express my immense gratitude and appreciation to these platforms for their work!

Tuntematta kieltä tai poliittista tilannetta, ajattelen että vanhat lauseet olisi hyvä säilyttää. Kenties niihin voi lisätä tunnisteen (tag) vanhasta kirjoitusasusta. Sitten voi harkintansa mukaan tehdä uusia lauseita uudella kirjoitusasulla.

Microsoft began translating content into the Tatar language in 2005, Yandex in 2015, and Google in 2020. DeepL followed somewhat later, but it began translating Tatar texts written not only in the Cyrillic script but also in the Latin script. Now, Google also translates Tatar texts written in the Latin script just as effectively as those in Cyrillic. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the employees of these companies for their tremendous work!

We also very much hope that Google will soon begin to speak the Tatar language, just as ChatGPT, Yandex, TatSoft, and others have been doing quite well for some time now.

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts: how do you feel about the overall quality of the Tatoeba corpus in your language? Does it seem mostly fine to you, or are there many sentences you think should be improved but feel out of your control?

Yes, there are some, if I remember right.

I don't really understand what the point of your question is.
There are some suggestions to change a sentence and the contributor can change that; if not, a corpus maintainer can change that.
(Some sentence seem not to be correct, however some of them are correct in a region which we don't know.
And e.g. in Hungarian many contributors always add an unnecessary indefinite article before nouns [Anglicism; Ez alma :) —> Ez egy alma :( / This is an(/one) apple] which I find ugly in Hungarian but they can't imagine our language other way so as the society can't imagine the life without smart phones now.
I'd change all those sentences.)
(The Hungarian sentences are controlled, anyway.)

What does the "comment on sentence" tag do?

I tag my sentences with that if I give to the sentence an explanation (as a translation aid).
(That tag already existed, I just use it.)
In fact, it doesn't have too much sense (yet), since one can only see the tag when one openes the sentence.
