Volunteers sought who understand (some) Japanese and English.
I'm going to be parcelling out batches of ten Japanese words. Each word can be used with two different meanings (senses). If you are interested in volunteering this is what I would like you to do:
1. Post here, or PM me, saying you would like a batch to deal with.
2. Look up a word in WWWJDIC. http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~...wwwjdic.cgi?1C
(e.g. マジック =>
マジック (n) (1) magic; (2) (abbr) (See マジックマーカー) magic marker; (P) )
3. Look at an example in WWWJDIC.
( 赤と黒のマジックかサインペン持ってない?
I need red and black markers or felt-tip pens. Do you have any? )
4. Decide what sense it is. (It is sense 2 here)
5. Note down the sentence ID of the example and the sense next to the word.
(e.g. マジック 142223 Sense 2)
You can find the sentence ID by using the "comments/corrections" system. It's the ID of the Japanese sentence I want.
5a. Ideally, find a sentence with a different sense (if there is one), then repeat steps 4 and 5.
6. Repeat for next word.
7. When you've done all 10 words send the information back to me (PM me or post in this thread).
7a. If you want, ask for another 10 words.
> 5. Note down the sentence ID of the example and the sense
> next to the word.
> (e.g. マジック 142223 Sense 2)
Alternatively you can copy and paste the whole sentence instead of looking up the ID.
this is *way* easier than the other tasks that I tried to volunteer for (which were way over my head)
am I banned yet :P or can I have 10 words?
