"It has to be let out" makes it sound like you're talking about a pet.
How about "You have to let it dry for at least two hours"?
Is this about paint? Is this about a piece of clothing? What would "it" be?
I don't know, the Spanish doesn't specify
So, I guess this could possibly be OK, if you'd just washed your pet, but since people might not think of that possibility, it would seem off, I think.
Does Spanish use the same verb for "drying clothes" and "drying paint?"
If not, then perhaps the verb would give you a hint on the meaning.
