Couldn't agree more on not adopting sentences one doesn't reckon are correct. I originally adopted it, then thought better of it, visited the sentence page, left the above message, tagged it and then must have forgotten to orphan it. My apologies, I've now corrected that.
How about just stripping “brown” and “焼いた” from the pair?
@Swift: For me, "brown toast" is toast made from "brown bread".
In that case, the sentence doesn't match the Japanese. I'll leave a note on that and see what arihato (or anyone else who might stumble across it) says.
The Japanese has been changed to match this sentence.
