Did you mean:
He left part of his estate to his son Robert.

Yes. I mean what I typed above.
But that's a great alternative. Why don't you add it?

Do you think my English variant is a good translation of your Turkish sentence? If so, I can add it.
Something bothers me with your English sentence, I believe it should be reformulated.

Yes, your translation is perfect for Turkish sentence.
What is the thing which bothers you? ''Settle something on somebody'' means ''give money or property to someone.''

Thanks, you live and learn :)
You're right.

I didn't know this form of expression in American English. Is it also being used in American English, or only in British English?

Hey, do not mention it :)
As far as I know, it's only in British English

Great, thanks.
Sometimes when I read British expressions, I have a feeling that they do not exist in English ^^
I'm too much accustomed to American English, although my English teacher at the high school taught us British English :)

I got the same feeling, too. :)
We have been thaught ''-London English-'' at schools, but my American English and slang culture are way better. o_O
