Actually, "Kau" is neutral, while "Anda" is polite. Also, "Kamu" is casual and "Aku" can be either casual or neutral, but not polite.
Depending on the sentence, I'd translate it to either 'neutral' or 'polite' Indonesian. Both are acceptable, yet in this case, I felt that it's better to use the 'neutral' one.
It probably IS okay to do so. I just wanted to make sure that you truly understood Japanese levels of politeness.
