1) The French and Esperanto mean "How many books does he have?" 2) The English and German mean "Does he have many books?"
The French of #2 is "Est-ce qu'il possède beaucoup de livres?"
In Esperanto it's "Cxu li havas multajn librojn?"
The German of #1 is "Wieviel Bücher hat er?"
