For "J'étais un peu surpris", it's masculine, the feminine translation are not ok. They should be unlinked.
I think there are no directly linked (blue arrows, black font) feminine translations here – they are all masculine or neutral. Is there any particular sentence that you have in mind?

I have the impression that the sentence given are perfect translation, I wasn't aware they could be linked with the theme, but not with the same person.
