
In the context that I learned it from, I believe that "chopine" is a bottle one drinks wine from, and a reusable one. Which is why I translated it as "wine bottle". I think you would agree.

I think that a decanter would be something slightly different, though in some contexts the same. "Chopine", I think, is just a colloquial term for "wine bottle". So, "wine bottle" seems to be the best I can give you :-)
I imagine it'd be something you could carry around with you (probably not true for a decanter).
