Theoretically, this could be okay, but I've never heard it this way.
I think it's fine.
"in the patio" is not natural-sounding English to me. Something could be "in the yard" or "in the garden" but always "on the terrace" or "on the patio".
I think this depends on what “patio” means to people. It can be a type of yard but also a balcony. The choice of preposition follows from that.
