Eher anders gestellt und vielleicht eher „anfangen“ als „beginnen“: Ich fing vor vielen Jahren an, Deutsch zu lernen.

Den zweiten Satz kann man so lassen.

(seit vielen Jahren ?: „Ich lerne seit vielen Jahren Deutsch.“ Das heißt: ohne Unterbrechung.)
