Colloquial Malay / Informal Malay / Local Malay / Bahasa Pasar ?

English "serious" used; "ni" used in place of "ini"

We will be adding another version of Malay called "Malay (Vernacular)" which includes all Colloquial/Informal/Local Malay or Bahasa Pasar. The "Malay" language classification will be left for "Standard Malay" sentences only.

Malay native speakers, should we add this sentence to the "Malay (Vernacular)" classification?

Yes definitely, although this phrase reads a bit unnaturally to me - shouldn't it be "says ni memang serious"? However, I must confess I haven't been immersed in Malay for a while so people could be saying it like this these days.

this is a very bad translation.

The normal one is:

Saya serius.

To keep this sentence as it is, adding Malay (Vernacular) classification is a good idea. But if you would keep the Standard Malay, as @falcons84 says it should be changed into "saya cakap ini memang serious". 'Serious' might be translated as 'sebenar' in Standard Malay (CMIIW).

Once we have Malay (Vernacular), feel free to add sentences in Terengganu or Pahang varieties as well (or invite friends who speak these varieties), as they are close enough to standard Malay that they are considered by the Ethnologue (ethnologue.com) to be the same language :)
