Could "man" mean a woman or a child in this sentence ?

Eldad Eldad 31 Ionawr 2015 31 Ionawr 2015 am 00:02:15 UTC link Permalink

@danepo, if I may add, in English you wouldn't say it differently. Same as in English, you don't have to say "ĉu vi fidas tiun viron" or "ĉu vi fidas tiun personon" in Esperanto just because the English reads "man". "homo" in Esperanto is quite an appropriate translation, in my opinion, in this case (I explained why in my comment before, I hope you received it).

@Eldad
but if the English sentence was:

What about you? Do you trust this woman?

would you also use the word "homo, persono" (person) in this sentence?
