I think that's pretty unlikely. 骨を埋(うず)める is as you say, but 骨を埋(う)める is just burying bones. From context it hardly seems likely that the text here is the former.

In fact Bulgarian translation ”Кучето зарови кокал в градината.”matches with ”Our dog buries its bone in the garden.”
