Al mi ŝajnas, ke "... tute malsamas de tio" (aŭ "je tio") estus pli bona varianto. Cetere, mi povas erari.

Hm! Mi traserĉis http://tesktaro.com per la serĉtermino "malsamas al " (sen citiloj). Estis 2 trafoj.
Sekve mi serĉis per "malsamas de ". Estis neniu trafo.
Mi provis "malsama de ": neniu trafo.
Kaj fine "malsama al ": 3 trafoj.

Konklude: la varianto, kiun vi proponas, ne troviĝas en la tekstaro. Tiu, kiun mi uzis, estas malofta.
Mi ankaŭ serĉis per "\bdiferenc\VF": estis multegaj trafoj kun la prepozicio "al".
Ĉu mi rajtas supozi, ke "diferencas de" influis vin kaj igis vin proponi "malsamas de"?

Jes, vi estas prava. Mi proponis prepozicion "de", deirante el la aliaj lingvoj, kiujn mi konas. Tial, verŝajne, vorteto "al" konfuzis min.

Kiel diris avo Zamenhof - "parolu Esperante laŭ logiko, ĉu same parolas aliaj - ne gravas". Vortumo "malsamas al" ne estas logika por mi... laŭ mia intuicio :).
