Here are the English sentences with \x{200B}.
I marked them with " * ".
Note that some of them have 2 consecutive ones.
I already changed 3 of my own.

[#1866845] The 26th of September is the European Day of Languages. The Council of Europe wants to draw attention to the multilingual heritage of Europe, to foster the evolution of multilingualism in society and to encourage citizens to learn languages * * . Tatoeba, as an easy-to-use learning tool and an active community, promotes the study and appreciation of languages in a very practical way. (al_ex_an_der)

[#3300092] The form of language * * changes over time. (AlanF_US)

[#9767038] It was Pope Gelasius I who had the idea of * * establishing Valentine's Day, the feast of lovers (every February 14). (AmarMecheri)

An Armenian proverb wonderfully summarizes my thought: "The more languages you know, the more you are a person." (Malape)

[#3416377] Americans wanted to impose the idea that a book or a movie should be considered the same as any commercial object. For they understood that besides the army, diplomacy and trade there is also a cultural war. It's a battle they intend to win both for noble reasons -- the United States has always felt that its values * * are universal -- and less noble ones: the education of minds is the best way to sell American products. Consider that cinema represents their most important export, ahead of weapons, aerospace or computers! Hence their desire to impose English as a global language. Even if we can observe for the last two decades a decline in their influence. (Malape)

Perhaps, one way to efficiently do this would be to have an icon next to the mail icon at the top of the page that links to "comments on my sentences," and then have a red number appear the same way it does for unread messages. There would need to be some way for members to click something on a comment saying they have seen the comment, I suppose.

I think the programmer(s) of that part of the website assumed that people would be making requests for exact matches of words and not variations of the words or other words in the same word families.. In other words, they likely thought that when someone requested "stair", they wanted a sentence example with the singular word "stair" rather than the plural "stairs." I don't think it's a bug. I think they planned it that way.

CK CK 1. června 2021 1. června 2021 6:37:46 UTC link Trvalý odkaz (permalink)

I took the numbers from these pages.
https://tatoeba.org/en/vocabula..._sentences/eng

That set of pages counts only exact matches.
This kind of search: =spot
Also, maybe orphan sentences are ignored.
I made the query the default "fuzzy" search and also included orphan sentences in the query.

This is the kind of thing that I thought might be useful.

http://tatoeba.ueuo.com/requested.html
Requested English Words - Sorted by NGSL & Frequency

I manually downloaded all the English word request pages, and harvested the data I needed to create this. If the data were easily accessible, similar lists could be created for other languages, too.

CK CK 30. května 2021 30. května 2021 9:00:05 UTC link Trvalý odkaz (permalink)

What I meant was the "requested vocabulary" list.
This: https://tatoeba.org/en/vocabula..._sentences/eng

CK CK 30. května 2021, upraveno 30. května 2021 30. května 2021 3:52:41 UTC, upraveno 30. května 2021 4:20:36 UTC link Trvalý odkaz (permalink)

It would also be nice if we could download these vocabulary requests.

At least for the English, there are so many very, very low frequency words on the list that it would be nice to be able to compare the list with a word frequency list, and focus on adding sentences that included the higher-frequency requested words that more people would find useful.

** Orphan Sentence Stats **

I've included links for those interested in browsing and adopting sentences in their own native languages.

[EDIT 2021-05-25] I apologize for posting this information. I didn't think it would start an argument. It was just a by-product of gathering the data for http://bit.ly/nativespeakers . I thought some members would find this interesting and perhaps encourage some to look at sentences and adopt them.

Sorry.

Shishir,

This isn't the solution you want, but this is something you could do in the meantime.

Focus on translating sentences owned by one native Turkish speaker at a time.

You can find the native speakers listed here.
http://tatoeba.ueuo.com/stats-2021-03-13.html

This page also has the option of getting links to sentences by these native speakers that are not yet translated into Spanish by using this URL.

http://tatoeba.ueuo.com/stats-2...-13.html?t=spa
Just skip any contributor of sentences that you do not want to translate.
Look for the "tur not yet in spa" links.
