I liked the old site better, because you could browse Tatoeba without logging in.

Thanks. I didn't know about that.

Hi everyone,

I just noticed that there's no link to the FAQ or the wiki inside the top menu. Maybe there should be a "Help" section to the right of "Community". This could link to the FAQ.

I agree with you. I just wanted to add to what you said.

I've been thinking about this and it's really complicated.

Right now, if someone adds, for example, a sentence in Australian English, it has to be tagged as "Australian English".

But tags are really disorganized. I think that we should find a way to better organize tags.

This might be a good first step.

There could categories of tags like: Grammar, Author, Source, Content, Quality, Dialect, Administrative.

Examples (from the most popular tags):
Grammar: presente,infinito presente
Source:by X, from Y, date
Content:female name, weather, proverb (most tags would go here)
Quality:OK
Administrative:@change
Dialect:Australian English

This is just a suggestion.

I think the same is also true for many languages. For example, if you look at the list of English dialects:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li...glish_language , you can see that it's quite long and that there can be many different dialects in the same country.

Thank you for reopening the bug. Maybe it should not have been closed so quickly. Anyway, now the Wall is also very slow.

Congratulations for the new homepage!

Thank you everyone for your answers. I think that it must be something with my computer.

I discovered something new. This problem only really happens when I make the text big. When I make the text normal size, it's not smooth, but not so bad. When I make it really small, everything works normally.

So maybe something in the programming of the web page happens differently depending on the size of the text?

"The way Pfirsichbaeumchen describes the problem and her solution implies this isn't a bug and that this issue can likely be closed."

I think that it is a bug. The pages that I mentioned are so slow that they're unusable. It's almost impossible for me to browse the latest sentences or my log. This makes it much less enjoyable for me to contribute to Tatoeba.

Maybe this is just something that happens on my computer, but I don't think so. I don't know why this is happening now. I could use Chrome but I would prefer to keep using Firefox.

Edit: Also, I don't know how I could reduce the number of sentences displayed.

This new website is confusing. All the important stuff, like the "Latest contributions", "Latest comments" and "Latest messages" are gone.

It feels like a search engine.

If I try to scroll down, it's very slow and Firefox can even stop working for a while. This didn't happen before.

Thank you for answering. It happens to me when I use Firefox on Windows. Chrome is a little bit faster.

Tatoeba slowing down my computer?

Maybe it's just a problem with my computer, but I've noticed that some parts of Tatoeba really slow down my computer now. The Wall is fine, but all the webpages that have lists of sentences, like the log or when I click "show more..." slow down my browser. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just my computer?

Thanks, Gillux. You're awesome! It's perfect.

Edit: Now, you just have to set his country of origin to Egypt :)

If you can remove the other parts.

I see that Horus still doesn't have an avatar. Maybe we could just use this temporarily: http://en.wikipedia.org/static/...g/hiero_G5.png

It means "Horus" in hieroglyphs.
