Eva,Romer'in ofisine çıkan merdivenlere tırmandı, merdiven boşluğundaki karmaşık kokuyu analiz etmeye çalıştı.-mantar ve kurum, eski birikmiş toz ve küf arasında bir karışım olduğuna karar verdi.
"cross" ve "stour" kelimelerinin anlamlarından emin değilim. Siz hangi sözlükten buldunuz?

Bu bağlamda "cross" demek kavuşturma/karışım - iki şeyler arasında bir karıştırma.
"stour" nadiren kullanılıyor, ama birikmiş toz gibi bir şey (bk. http://oxforddictionaries.com/d...english/stour)
Genelde zargan kullanıyorum, bir öneriniz var mı?

Genelde seslisozluk, zargan, tureng gibi sözlükleri kullanıyorum. oxford'uda ilave edeyim. Dil bilgisi bağlamında bazı düzeltmeler yaptım. Burada 3 adet bağımsız eylem var üçü peş peşe yapılmış ve simple past tense uygulanmış. Birincisi: Eva climbed, İkincisi: trying to (past continuous gibi görünmesine rağmen, ortak özne olduğu için simple past olarak algılanıyor.)Üçüncüsü: she decided. Kelimeleri onayladığına göre yazdığım şekilde düzeltebilirsin. Teşekküre gerek yok. Kendine iyi bak.
