Interessant, wie regional unterschiedlich die Schule besucht wird:
zur Schule, auf die Schule, in die Schule (Ö)
Könnte man sich eigentlich zum englischen Satz ein 'yesterday' dazudenken? Passt dann 'auf die' noch?

Natürlich wollte ich "Er" schreiben, und ich tu es auch gleich, Alexander. - Ich denke mit einem yesterday im Englichen hätte ich wohl "zur Schule" übersetzt. Ohne Kontext habe ich mir den Satz zurecht gelegt im Sinne von: Er war ein Autodidakt. Oder, ich glaube, er war so jemand wie Adam Smith, der nie eine Schule besuchte, weil er von Vater und Jeremy Bentham unterrichtet wurde. If memory serves. Danke! Und einen Gruß in alle Richtungen!
