This is from Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novel _Gloria Scott_, translation originally made for the newspaper Keski-Suomi in 1893. I don't know the author of the translation.
The problem is: I don't think this matches the Russian or any other sentences. The others talk about game (pheasants), this is about a musical instrument.
It's possible that the translator took the original English and replaced with his or her own piece of writing that matches the plot better. I don't feel like reading the novel in both languages to find out.
Anyway, this should be unlinked.
