無色の緑色の考えが猛烈に眠る is how this sentence is referred to in Wikipedia. I am not even sure if this belongs here in Tatoeba. I suppose it has been translated to most of the languages in print already.
Thank you for the hint. As I don't really speak Japanese... do you think the translation on Wikipedia is indeed to be preferred? If yes, then I'll change my translation.
I think I got the translation from someone in a forum or maybe from a Japanese friend of mine. But I'd prefer whatever is the better translation for this sentence.
A 考え is "in" a person's head... a thought, an idea.
A 概念 is an abstract concept; in the Platonic sense. This one is much better.
激しく and 猛烈 are similar enough that it shouldn't matter I think; but best get a native speaker's opinion.
