@boracasli:

I don't think Russian needs a transliteration. I don't know of anywhere in the world where Latin Russian is used... Or of anyone who uses it for cases outside of them not having a keyboard.

That's right.
In addition, such a table may help in transliterating Russian, but will be absolutely inappopriate in case of other Cyrillic written languages, such as Ukrainian, Bielarusian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Macedonian, Kazakh, Tartar, Mongolian, Tajik, etc.

in fact if we were to add such transliteration, it's language by language, not alphabet by alphabet. So it would not affect other languages using Cyrillic. But anyway as said, I will add it only if it's really needed by learners.

Well, Russian transliteration is really easy to implement (although I don’t really like the system above ^^).

However, it will be useful only for the very beginners.

> needed by learners.
Well, boracasli IS a learner...

I'm waiting a native speakers, confirm this. For when, when I will have time, please stop ask this, I'm not working 8 hours a day on tatoeba. I don't know when. Asking will not make things come sooner, it will only bother me.

Transliterated Russian... Eww...

And:

"y" are different.:
е, ё, ю, я: it’s y.
ы: like Turkish ı.

What about "super project"?

To respect tradition, I think it is better to preserve the original name, and explain its meaning rather than switch to any other language, including English.

I remember that several months ago, the team had already discussed about replacing the japanese name Tatoeba by a more "universal" term. After a brainstorming (in which the ideal would be having an Esperanto name, but nobody in the team spoke it at this time), we were not able to find a catchy term for it.
Anyway, it seems to be a little bit late to change it, but it's only my personal opinion...

Is there any way for me to keep a "watch" on a language?

For example, I want to make sure that I take a look at any new sentences added in certain languages that I "follow" to ensure that inaccurate/machine-translated sentences are not being added. Preferably, it would also have with a filter to hide my own sentences.

for the moment you can use this page
http://tatoeba.org/fre/contributions/index (accessible from "show more" at the top of "last contribution" module in the home page, and from there you can filter last contributions in the language you want, tough it's not possible yet to not see your contributions.

But yeah it's something we need, I think it will be part of features we will add in the complete new version of tatoeba.

I remember the days (just some 2-3 weeks ago) when there were more Uighur sentences than Ukranian ones... Now it'll probably take at least a year for them to reach the number that the Ukranian ones have now... When is there going to be a surprise mass surge of Uighur contributors, I wonder?
