I wonder if you mean "Tom" instead of "Tomer."

In Hebrew it is Tomer, but I can change to Tom for English.

Nava, please correct the Hebrew as well ;-)

But the audio for Hebrew is for Tomer...

Oh... OK, so you can leave the audio, post another sentence with "Tom".
@CK, what should be done in this case? Should we unlink this sentence and link another one instead, with the name Tom?

Eldad Eldad 6 dekabr 2014 6 dekabr 2014 12:20:35 UTC link Permalink

I gave it a second thought:
Tomer is a common Hebrew name (unrelated to Tom).
I suggest to retain the name Tomer in this case, as you already posted an audio.
I would unlink the sentence with Tom (or delete it altogether).

In my opinion, there is no anything wrong to translate names using the way they usually spelt and pronounsed in another language, like "Mary" - "Marie", etc. So, if "Tom" is "Tomer" in Hebrew, it's not a mistake to link these sentence, the English one with "Tom" and the Hebrew one with "Tomer".

If these names are unrelated, so it's hard to say, if they could be linked or not just because of they sound rather similar...

Guys, whatever you decide is fine by me. I don't know how to delete sentences (I don't think I can), so please feel free to delete the sentence with Tom or un-link etc. Most of my male names are now also in Hebrew - "Tom" so this issue won't repeat itself. The issue is with Mary, as there is no Israeli name that sounds like Mary, and so often I record Hebrew translations with the name Mika, which is a common Hebrew name for girls.
