J'aimerais savoir pourquoi un intervenant qui a été bloqué à plusieurs reprises peut se reconnecter et utiliser Tatoeba sans problème.
Le blocage est-il limité dans le temps ?

J’ai envoyé un message privé.

En la vortaro de TATOEBA (ĉe http://kono.be/vivo/) estas ekzemplo kun du eraroj por la vorto cent (centavo):
Ex: Este doce custa oito centavos.: Tiu bombono kostas okdek cendojn.|This candy costs eighty cents.
Kiel kaj al kiu komuniki por korekto?
Ok = oito
okdek = oitenta
Esse = tiu
este = ĉi tiu

🍎 We now have over 800,000 English sentences with audio.

Tatoeba Stats, Graphs & Charts have been updated:
https://tatoeba.j-langtools.com/allstats/

Hello all! I'm sure that, this has already been discussed but in my view adding single words for translation such as food items, names of clothes, names of planets, names of animals, etc. can increase the usefulness of Tatoeba.
If a person searches by typing 'Tiger' in the search bar, s/he can see what the Tiger is written in different languages. i think there are already dictionaries available for those things but the dictionaries are mainly focused on 2 languages but Tatoeba has the potential for 422 different languages in the current scenarios.

This is a corpus, actually a corpora for sentences.
For words I advise you using wordhippo or other dictionaries.

Wikipedia is available in several languages. Some articles in some languages are linked to the same article in other languages. That makes it possible to use Wikipedia as a sort of multilingual dictionary. The translation of “tiger” into Nepali, for example, is “बाघ”. It’s probably possible to extract that information automatically. Wiktionary also accepts translations.

^^
Wiktionary is great, some pages show the translations in other languages, but I see them more commonly when I search in other dictionaries not the English one.
Otherwise it has no function to ask a word and return its translation in several languages. Some pages can do that (using several calls of google translate) or maybe asking an AI can solve that problem.
Wordhippo is just the same, it has many languages, but no page shows a word translated in different languages.
Okay, I tried, AI can:
Turkish: Bu cümleyi çevirebilirim.
Japanese: この文を翻訳することができます。
Chinese (Simplified): 我可以翻译这个句子。
sometimes tends to translate word for word, probably because our dictionaries have many word for word translations

If translations are missing from Wikipedia or Wiktionary, you can always just add them yourself.

Hello, folks! I hope you are all doing great. I have a question. What was the new supported language into Tatoeba. I just noticed that because before there were 420 supported languages but now it shows 421 tongues.
Thanks for your help.

I see 422.

No, it shows 421 supported languages.

You're right, two more languages were added, I think the two new languages are Swazi and Rendille as they only show 1 sentence each.

Swazi was added in 2016 and Rendille in 2020.

Sylheti was added in February and Tumbuka two weeks ago.

what actually will do

The vocabulary requests feature is useful, but is there an alternative method for sorting them besides based on the number of sentences? The Swedish vocabulary requests contain numerous misspelled or nonexistent words, making it challenging to identify the "good" requests amidst the clutter. Maybe some tagging or marking as "ignore" would be an idea.
If there was a previous discussion regarding this matter, kindly provide a link to the thread as I was unable to find it.

there's this issue on Github where this is discussed: https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/1473

First, we could show info, who added the word, and second, maybe give native CMs and/or higher rankers authority over deleting vocabulary words.

Thank you! Looks like there are some good ideas to make this feature more useful.

Here are several other related Github requests.
- Allow user to add their name to a vocabulary request https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/2599
- Enable sorting for "My Vocabulary Requests" https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/2575
- Items at beginning of "Vocabulary that needs sentences" are always the same, and always the ones I don't want to provide sentences for https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/2470
- Add "comments" field to "Add vocabulary items" feature https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/1715

I agree with that. The Berber/Amazigh list, too, contains many misspelt words.

Ok.

It’s not possible to download the list of requested Swedish vocabulary, so I’m not able to process it, but I do have a list of common Swedish words with fewer than ten sentences on Tatoeba.
https://easyupload.io/7ta8b4

That's fantastic! Thank you!

Do you have a list of Berber words of fewer than ten example sentences? I'd be glad if you shared it with us.

I can’t find lists of common Berber words on the internet, so I can only give you a list of words that already occur on Tatoeba in fewer than ten sentences.

Thank you, Cangarejo. I have had a look at the Amazigh/Berber list and it's very helpful for me.
