The problem is that the Levantine Arabic is a dialect, it's not the same as Standart Arabic. We already have Egyptian Arabic and Iraqi Arabic so maybe we could create one more?

Try to google with quotes "They are less friendly than my new neighbor"

odexed odexed September 2, 2014 September 2, 2014 at 3:49:14 PM UTC link 永久链接

No, thank you, but I got the point. It seems that sentences like this are tolerated here. So, there is no problem anymore.

Nazi Germany is a part of history now, USA is another thing. I don't think we should provoke a hatred pointing out the controversial decisions which many people (also in Iraq might still keep in their memory). On the other hand, I personally don't have nothing against this sentence because it's neutral in itself.
Now answer me here, please. http://tatoeba.org/rus/wall/sho...#message_20264

We are talking about provocative sentences like this
http://tatoeba.org/rus/sentences/show/3347794
and not about negative words.
Some people don't tolerate it, so why we don't just accept some limit or rule for them?

P.S. I absolutely agree with Alan and sharptoothed.

That's what about my question is. What are those grounds? Maybe we should consider some concrete stuff. If we have for example this sentence http://tatoeba.org/rus/sentences/show/3347798
and this one
http://tatoeba.org/rus/sentences/show/3459609
Why the first one is not good enough for this project but second is?

So, what about guidelines of Tatoeba?

http://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/arti...h-explanations

Don't submit sentences that will antagonize contributors or readers.
Sentences in this category include but are not limited to those that:
- insult others due to their gender, ethnicity, color, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or other membership in a group
- attack other Tatoeba contributors for whatever reason, such as a difference of opinion over what constitutes a legal sentence; such matters should be discussed elsewhere
- insult languages or countries

What do you think about political sentences in Tatoeba, especially provocative? I've noticed that some people tend to add them from time to time. Should we have some concept or limit for these things or no?

Why have you lost it?

Aunque no sepa hablar portugués, lo puedo leer hasta cierto punto y quiero agradecerle a Carlos por el esfuerzo que hace como colaborador y por lo bueno que trae no solo al corpus portugués sino al corpus ruso también. Me alegro de qué estés con nosotros. ¡Felicidades!

Thank you, Alan :)

It would be great if we had a search not only for sentences, but for any user's comments.

odexed odexed June 29, 2014,编辑June 29, 2014 June 29, 2014 at 12:17:20 PM UTC,编辑June 29, 2014 at 12:21:20 PM UTC link 永久链接

I agree, it was a bad example. So, maybe archaic, @delete, @change, not grammatical, non-standard. If we want to have the sentences that can be trustworthy, we should definitely eliminate these ones which a native speaker wouldn't use in a life.

odexed odexed June 29, 2014,编辑June 29, 2014 June 29, 2014 at 11:59:34 AM UTC,编辑June 29, 2014 at 12:06:49 PM UTC link 永久链接

I think we could create a list of tags that would be considered while base of sentences is being generated. So this kind of sentences wouldn't be presented there. We have a lot of tags like "Old orthography" and so on.

If some native English speakers have a time, I would like to see some natural-sounding English sentences with these words I haven't found in the project:

prepped
to keep a level head
a flake (referring to a person)
lurker
wash over
dawdle
jacked
stockroom
winch
repurpose

Thanks.

Newbies can at least leave the comments for any sentence. As for me, I prefer to see the project easy to understand and easy to use even for newbies. Any innovation could make it more complex.
