Usted tiene razón. A propósito, puede agregar esa oración como frase de ejemplo aquí:

Wow, cool! Sysko, you’re great! :)

Demetrius Demetrius July 18, 2012 July 18, 2012 at 1:59:57 PM UTC link Permalink

Sysko planned this long time ago, but since he’s so busy nowadays...

He had an idea that the languages someone uses should affect probability. E.g. if you input some text, it is more likely to be Spanish than French, because you haven't added any French sentences before (or maybe languages would be selected in the profile).

So that’s one reason not to use off-site processing: if this is done on Tatoeba, it's going to be better.

But it seems no one has time to implement this. :) What is more, no one knows when new Tatoeba version will be ready. New Tatoeba will use its own database engine, so the code will be incompatible... So maybe we should wait for sysko to finish the new version first.

...which was known to be incomplete for 4th week in a row:

Has it been fixed?

I hope yeni nesil şizofren is not really next-generation schozophrenic, as his nick said. :(

Can you please tell a bit more about the help you need? :)

OFFTOPIC: Is classical Japanese poetry written in classical Japanese? If so, shouldn’t we treat it as a separate language, like we do with wényán?

Demetrius Demetrius July 5, 2012 July 5, 2012 at 5:39:16 PM UTC link Permalink

This is planned for the next version, that will use TatoDB instead of MySQL and will be written in C++... But no one knows when that version will be ready, lol. :)

Similar tags have been merged before, but this was mostly done by hand, see:

You have to add sentences here, on Tatoeba. :)

You can add new sentences here:
http://tatoeba.org/eng/sentences/add
(Choose any language right now; it will be changed later)

Or you can just add translations of other sentences.

Demetrius Demetrius June 26, 2012 June 26, 2012 at 11:31:54 AM UTC link Permalink

But please note that the FAQ is out of date, now you should contact but sysko, not Trang (the email is same thoug, team@tatoeba.org).

Demetrius Demetrius June 26, 2012 June 26, 2012 at 11:30:48 AM UTC link Permalink

It has an ISO code (pms), so it can be added.

Please refer to the FAQ:
http://tatoeba.org/eng/faq#new-language

By the way, I seem to have missed it, but what happened to Trang? :-?

Alternatively, you can extract the list of all authors from the sentences_detailed.csv[1] file. So probably you can simply put the list of all users in the About box somewhere... It's gonna be a long list, though.

It’s quite a difficult question. Sysko said, that French court once said that sentences *can* be copyrighted if the contain artistic value. That’s why it's forbidden to copy others’ sentences on Tatoeba without explicit permission: to be on the safe side.

There is ‘Terms of Use’ section of the site:
http://tatoeba.org/eng/terms_of_use#eng-version

> Attribution: To re-distribute a text page in any form, provide credit to the authors either by including
> a) a hyperlink (where possible) or URL to the
> page or pages you are re-using,
> b) a hyperlink (where possible) or URL to an
> alternative, stable online copy which is freely
> accessible, which conforms with the license, and
> which provides credit to the authors in a manner
> equivalent to the credit given on this website, or
> c) a list of all authors. (Any list of authors may
> be filtered to exclude very small or irrelevant
> contributions.)

Therefore, I believe (though I may be mistaken) that adding a hyperlink will suffice, even though it is an offline application.

By the way, where can we see your application? I'd like to have a look at it. :)

I support the idea. Both Pfrischembaum and al_ex_an_der appear to know how Tatoeba works.

In fact I think corvard IS not unreliable... He's too direct sometimes, but I guess he is well-meaning.

I can't find any info on cookies in AJAX, maybe maybe XMLHttpRequest just doesn't allow using cookies? :(

BTW, for me, the following cookies are sent: '__utma', '__utmz', 'CakeCookie[User]', 'CakeCookie[hash_last_com]', 'CakeCookie[contribute_lang]', 'CAKEPHP', 'CakeCookie[interfaceLanguage]', '__utmb', '__utmc'. I don't know which ones are really neccessary and which ones can be omited.

Demetrius Demetrius June 1, 2012 June 1, 2012 at 4:13:42 PM UTC link Permalink

I guess this is doable through userscript, but I'm not sure...

All you have to do is to send a POST request to http://tatoeba.org/eng/private_messages/send with the following fields:
{
"_method": "POST", // (dunno if this is really neccessary, but, to be on the safe side...)
"data[PrivateMessage][content]": text,
"data[PrivateMessage][recpt]": username,
"data[PrivateMessage][title]": message_title
}

BUT you also must send user cookies. I dunno how AJAX handles cookies, maybe they will be sent automatically(?).

> How dis you accomPlish the mass tagging? Did you create a list and add the tag to all items in the list?
Yes, I've created a text file with sentence IDs. It's much faster than opening each page and typing the tag text, though more error-prone.

Demetrius Demetrius June 1, 2012 June 1, 2012 at 3:33:38 PM UTC link Permalink

BTW it's very easy to send automated messages with existing software like wget.

Just use Firebug to get your credentials in a cookie and the fields that should be set, and use wget (or the software you use). I've used this to mass-tag proverbs some time ago.
