I'd say, "The boat is in Byzantium" -- but maybe that's just because I like alliteration!

Anyway, "ploion" usually refers to merchant or transport or fishing vessels, as opposed to naval ships for warfare, but it is used in the latter sense in Herodotus with the addition of the adjective "makron" [long]. A more general word for ship was ναῦς [naus].
