「私はトムのお父さんです。」とはあまり言わないのではないでしょうか。
「私はトムの父です。」あるいは「私はトムの父親です。」と言う方が多いと思います。

小さい子に対してわかりやすく「お父さん」を使うのなら別ですが。

ぼくもちょっとそれ思ったのですが、「父です」って言うような相手に dad って語を使うかなってのはちょっと疑問です。
まともな大人に向かってこういう英語を使うものなのでしょうか？
