@CK This sentence could also imply a situation where the speaker and listener(s) are at a restaurant or some other food place and the speaker asks what they ''are going to order''>> ''what are you getting?''''what are you getting that's on the menu?''

That's what's so tricky about Tatoeba. There are several translations/contexts for this sentence, which may cause the translations in the chain to get all jumbled up.
Is it okay if I translate it both ways: how much are you getting (out of this)AND what are you going to order?

The first thought that pops into my mind is "what did you order", so what will be served to you.

Referring to an amount, I'd more likely say 'which are you getting," since the selection is a short list "small, medium, or large). This is also just pushing it, looking for other possibilities. I'd very unlikely say this.

Exactly, so why, then, is ''wie viel bekommst du'' (which (of the listed sizes) are you getting) a direct translation of ''WHAT are you getting'' in this chain?
