
How about just deleting this? Grammatically accurate but I don't see the situation where it would be used. "The water is important to the people/village" would work, but then no longer an accurate translation.
Actually, how about changing the sentence and un-linking from the other sentences (provided the Ukrainian sentence doesn't fit this any more).

Check the source for that rule. As you mentioned yourself, the sentence sounds weird. Tatoeba isn't about collecting hypothetically useful sentences, but actually useful ones so we're well justified in fixing this little oddity.

I think it's fine the way you changed it. I'll have a look at the others.
